Duša Ruske Gozde: Življenje v Krajini Ivan Ivanovič Šiškin, ime tesno povezano z obsežnimi in duhovnimi ruskimi krajinami, se je rodil 25. januarja 1832 v Jelabugi, pokrajini Vyatka. Njegovo zgodnje življenje, čeprav koreninjajoče v trgovskih dejavnostih njegovega očeta, je razkrivalo prirojeno občutljivost do narave – občutljivost, ki se je sčasoma preobrazila v umetniško obsedenost za vse življenje. Po končanem izobraževanju na Kazanski gimnaziji se je Šiškin odpravil na zahtevno akademsko pot, najprej štiri leta na Moskovski šoli za slikarstvo, kiparstvo in arhitekturo, nato pa nadaljeval…
