Francesco Hayez
Zgodnje življenje in izobraževanje Francesco Hayez, eden najpomembnejših predstavnikov italijanskega romantizma, se je rodil 10. februarja 1791 v Benetkah. Njegov oče, Giovanni, je bil francoskega rodu, mati Chiara Torcella pa iz Murana. Že kot mlad fant je pokazal nadarjenost za risanje in ga je stric poslal k restavratorju umetnin na usposabljanje. Ta zgodnji stik z deli starih mojstrov je nedvomno vplival na njegov kasnejši razvoj.
