Ján Matejko
early life and education Jan Alojzy Matejko, známy ako Jan Matejko, sa narodil 24. júna 1838 v Krakóve, v srdci Poľska. Jeho otec, František Ksawery Matejko, bol český učiteľ a hudobný pedagóg, ktorý pôsobil ako súkromný lekár a špecialista na hudbu. Matejko vyrastal v dobách turbulentných prepojených s krakovskou revolúciou z roku 1846 a obliehaním Krakova vojskami Rakúska v roku 1848 – udalosti, ktoré hlboko ovplyvnili jeho budúcie…
