His lineage traced back to Staffordshire pottery families with deep roots in Stoke-on-Trent's ceramic heritage. From a young age, he was immersed in the world of ceramics, inheriting his father’s passion for innovation and craftsmanship within the
Spode empire. This formative experience would profoundly shape his future endeavors as a businessman and leader of Copeland & Sons.
