A Life of Wandering and Hardship Born in Berlin in 1693, Christian Ludwig Kaulitz lived a life shaped by sudden loss and the struggle to survive. His early years were spent in the shadow of his father, a fountain maker in Charlottenburg, who provided him with an education in drawing and the mathematical sciences. When his father passed away, the stability of his childhood vanished, replaced by economic hardship that would steer his path
