Born in San Gimignano in 1533, Giovanni Antonio Dosio lived a life deeply connected to the physical remnants of the past. Even as he transitioned between cities—leaving Rome for Florence in 1575 and later moving to Naples in 1590—his work remained anchored in the study of ancient forms.
He spent his final years in the vicinity of Caserta, passing away in 1611.
