Ankstyvieji Metai ir Formavimasis Žymus prancūzų dailininkas Tomas Kuturė (Thomas Couture) gimė 1815 metų gruodžio 21 dieną Senlyje, Prancūzijoje. Jo ankstyvasis gyvenimas buvo susijęs su persikėlimu į Paryžių kartu su šeima. Ten jis pradėjo studijuoti École des Arts et Métiers mokykloje, tačiau netrukus patraukė garsiosios École des Beaux-Arts dėmesį. Tačiau Kuturės kelias nebuvo lengvas; jis pakartotinai atmetamas konkurse dėl Prix de Rome apdovanojimo, kuris būtų užtikrinęs prestižinę rezidenciją Romo akademijoje.
