The Circus

The Composition of The Circus

The Circus is a large oil on canvas painted by George Wesley Bellows in 1912. The scene depicts a circus performance occurring within a tent, characterized by a lively atmosphere. In the center of the composition, two horses are prominently featured; one is located towards the left side of the frame, while the other is positioned closer to the right. A man is depicted riding on top of one of the horses.
