Early Life, Family and Training Wolfgang Hutter was born in Vienna, Austria, on December 13, 1928. He grew up in a household where art was a central presence, as he was the son of A. P. von Gütersloh. This familial connection likely shaped his early understanding of visual expression, providing a foundation for the diverse paths his career would eventually take as a painter, draughtsman, printmaker, and stage designer. His formal educ
ation began in earnest during the mid-1940s. From 1945 to 1950, Hutter studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
