In those early years, the seeds of a life dedicated to the visual arts were quietly sown. He would eventually find his way to the bustling atmosphere of Munich, a city that would shape his hands and his vision for many years to come. From 1911 to 1916, he devoted himself to his studies at the Munich School of Art
