The Lyrical Landscapes of Olive Cook Born in the historic heart of Cambridge in 1912, Olive Muriel Cook was an artist whose life and work were deeply intertwined with the textures of the English landscape. Her journey began not in a studio, but amidst the scholarly atmosphere of her childhood home, where her father served at the Cambridge University Library. A scholar by training, she earned a degree in Modern Languages from Newnham Co
llege, yet it was the visual world that eventually claimed her devotion.
