Her life, much like her canvas, is a tapestry woven from diverse cultural threads, having moved to Canada in 1988. This transition from the East to the West instilled in her a multicultural perspective that serves as the heartbeat of her
creative practice. Settling eventually in Montreal, Yu began to navigate the complexities of being both a guest and a host, a theme that would later evolve into a sophisticated exploration of mass migration, social change, and the very nature of belonging.
