Beatriz Gomes Dias: Life, Art & Activism Early Life and Education Beatriz Gomes Dias was born on March 26, 1971, in Dakar, Senegal. Though born in Africa, her ancestry traces back to Guinea-Bissau. Her parents, including a doctor father, relocated to Lisbon, Portugal when she was four years old, settling in the heart of the capital city. She pursued higher education at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Coimbra, earning an un
dergraduate degree in Biology. Later, she expanded her academic pursuits with a Master's degree in Science Communication from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of Nova University Lisbon.
