The air hangs heavy near the riverbank where a skeletal figure stands, stripped of the terrifying dignity often assigned to the Grim Reaper. This figure, a personification of death, occupies the shoreline with a startlingly mundane presence. He stands with legs apart, facing the water, engaged in the most basic of biological functions.
