Explore his serene scenes of Braes of Downie, Cairngorms & Glamis. He lived in Leven and Carnoustie for most of his life, had no formal training as an artist and didn’t really pursue it seriously until he was in his forties. He was a career banker, a
nd a golfer who played off scratch for over 50 years. He’s always stood a step away from the art establishment, and there’s no substantive biography, so much so, that his date of birth is stated eight years apart in a range of places.
