John Cheere : Le Sculpteur des Jardins de Grandeur John Cheere, un nom moins familier que celui de Sir Henry ou Canaletto, occupe néanmoins une place significative dans l'histoire de la sculpture anglaise du XVIIIe siècle. Né à Londres en 1709, il émerge d’un contexte improbable – initialement apprenti tailleur de confections – pour devenir l’un des créateurs les plus prolifiques et les plus influents de statues en plomb ornant les jardins des plus grandes propriétés anglaises. Son héritage ne se trouve pas dans des œuvres monumentales destinées au grand public, mais plutôt dans les figures…
