Born September 18, 1950, in Paisley, Scotland, McFadyen’s artistic journey began early, nurtured by Saturday morning classes at Glasgow School of Art where he honed his foundational skills. This formative experience propelled him towards Chelsea School of Art in 1966, culminating in BA and MA degrees in 1976 and 1977 respectively.
