While biographical details about her life are scarce—a testament perhaps to the understated nature of her artistic practice—her work speaks volumes about its profound connection to Korea’s cultural heritage and daily existence. Primarily recognized for her series “Festivities,” Jang Manyeong's paintings offer a glimpse into scenes of rural Korean life, rendered with remarkable sensitivity and precision using watercolor techniques.
