Thomas Uwins
Thomas Uwins (1782–1857) Thomas Uwins (24 Februar 1782, in London – 26 August 1857) war ein englischer Maler und Buchillustrator, der vor allem für seine Landschaftsbilder und Porträts bekannt wurde. Er wurde Mitglied der Royal Academy und gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Vertreter des Aquarellismus seiner Zeit. Seine künstlerische Entwicklung begann früh und fand ihren Ursprung in einer umfassenden Ausbildung durch einen Zeichnerlehrer an der Schule seiner Schwester – eine Erfahrung, die sein Leben lang für seine künstlerische Tätigkeit prägte.
