Frühes Leben und Ausbildung Geboren: 24. Juli 1927, Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York, USA Die Familie zog im jungen Alter nach St. Albans, Queens. Er entwickelte früh ein Interesse an der Kunst. Studierte an der Cooper Union (1946-1949) und lernte dort unter Morris Kantor moderne Kunsttheorien und -techniken.
