Early Life and Education Born: April 22, 1864, Bristol, Rhode Island Parents: John Willis Dearth and Ruth Marshall Dearth Family moved to Waterbury, Connecticut at age 15. Early artistic training with portrait painter Horace Johnson. Studied in Paris at the École des Beaux Arts under Ernest Hébert and Aimé Morot.
