Johan Barthold Jongkind: A Pioneer of Atmospheric Impressionism Johan Barthold Jongkind, jméno méně okamžitě rozpoznatelné než například u Monetova nebo Renora, zastává klíčovou pozici v dějinách impresionismu. Narodil se 3. června 1819 v Lattropu, malém městečku v Nizozemsku, a Jongkindův umělecký život byl poznamenán hlubokým talentem i osobními obtížemi. Jeho rané dětství probíhalo v klidných krajinách Overijsselska, regionu, který hluboce ovlivnil jeho celoživotní fascinaci vodou, světlem a atmosférou. Ačkoli začal jako účetní, jeho vrozená umělecká sklony ho dovedly do Haagu v roce 1837…
