البدايات الأولى وجذور برمنغهام وُلد ديفيد كوكس في التاسع والعشرين من أبريل عام 1783، في قلب منطقة ديريتيند الصناعية بمدينة برمنغهام، ومن تلك البدايات المتواضعة تشكلت رؤيته الفنية العميقة. كان والده يعمل حداداً، وهو ما غرس في نفسه أخلاقيات عمل سترافقه طوال حياته، رغم أن بنية ديفيد الناعمة لم تكن ملائمة لخشونة العمل في المطارق والفرن. بدأ مسيرته كمتدرب لدى صانع للتحف الصغيرة، حيث كان يرسم صوراً مصغرة على علب السجائر وإبزيم الأحذية المطل…
